Environmental Awareness
RioLife isn't just about enhancing your life (although it definitely will!), it has a purpose. Our roots stretch all the way back to the Amazon, home to one-third of the world's species of plant and animal life. We realise that everyone we know can help to promote the preservation of this beautiful and important region through consuming açaí, so our mission begins by sharing açaí with Australia.
The açaí berries, which have been prized for hundreds of years by Brazilian natives for their ability to provide a sense of strength, energy and a high nutritional content, are one of a few Brazilian exports that can directly protect the rainforest. Every time someone chows down on some açaí it provides a little more income for the Amazon locals, proving that they don't need to chop down trees to survive, more importantly that they must preserve the trees to sustain that income! How cool is that?!?
Sourcing the Best Acai
RioLife açaí is wild harvested, and we would never want anyone using or ingesting pesticides or anything artificial… lucky there are NONE used! PLUS it is an almost non-polluting industry. Makes you want some more huh?
Using açaí as a vehicle to promote further sustainability, RioLife has teamed up with international organisations dedicated to developing cooperation and positive exchange in the Amazon and beyond. The most important of these is Fruits of the Amazon, a business founded in New Zealand and with operations in over 8 countries, which assists RioLife in sourcing the best açaí in the world. Fruits of the Amazon has invested heavily in the açaí business in Brazil, and the island from which RioLife açaí is wild harvested and packed has now had a school built on it for the 160 local children. This açaí business provides an essential, environmentally sustainable, income for the locals.
Helping the Environment
We love the Triple Bottom Line approach to doing business. That is the benefit to you, the income for the people of the Amazon, and the benefits to the Amazon forest itself.
Another way RioLife is looking after the environment is our passion for bio degradable packaging. We have bowls, cups, spoons, and even straws that will do a Houdini (disappear!) if left in the rubbish for around 60 days. Pretty amazing right? We think so! We hope that we can lead the industry in taking on these products, and are even supplying them to our outlets, trying to convince them to swap all their packaging to this wonderful new invention.
RioLife's goal is to be an essential lifestyle brand for healthy living and sustainability. RioLife is a fantastic new way for you, the Brazilian locals, and the Amazon rainforest to reap the benefits of a truly magical fruit while protecting and enhancing the future for all.
